Business and Human Rights Initiatives

Human Rights Policy

The Takara standard Group, under its corporate philosophy of "Living standard," "Ethical standard," and "Quality standard," aims to realize a sustainable society based on harmony with society, happiness of its employees, and consideration for the environment. As a member of society, the Group is committed to fulfilling its responsibility to respect human rights.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all officers and employees of the Takara standard Group. We also expect our business partners to understand and support this policy.

2. Statement of Commitment to Respect Internationally Recognized Human Rights

The Takara standard Group supports and respects international norms, including the International Bill of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. The Takara standard Group will fulfill its responsibility to respect human rights by not violating human rights in its business activities, and taking appropriate measures to correct any negative impact on human rights. When there is a conflict between internationally recognized human rights and the laws and regulations of a nation or region, the Group will seek to respect international human rights principles to the fullest extent possible.

3. Human Rights Due Diligence

The Takara standard Group will implement human rights due diligence to identify and prevent or mitigate negative impacts of its business activities.

4. Remedies

If it becomes apparent that its business activities have directly or indirectly caused negative impacts on human rights, the Takara standard Group will work on remediation through appropriate procedures.

5. Education

The Takara standard Group will disseminate and establish this policy both internally and externally, and provide education and enlightenment to ensure that human rights initiatives are properly implemented in its business activities.

6. Dialogue

The Takara standard Group will continuously engage in dialogue and consultation with relevant stakeholders regarding human rights issues related to its business activities.

7. Disclosure

The Takara standard Group will appropriately disclose information on its human rights initiatives on its website and disclosure documents.

Promotion Structure

Our group has established the Sustainability Committee to promote initiatives to address sustainability issues. The Human Rights Subcommittee is responsible for promoting initiatives to respect human rights. It implements activity plans, such as promoting efforts to address human rights risks in the supply chain and planning and implementing training on respect for human rights. The Sustainability Committee manages the progress of these activity plans.
